For my first week of work experience I worked in a newsagents. I learned how a shop worked, regardless of the fact that it was a small old newsagent but the rules still applied. Rotate the stock, be friendly to the customers, keep the place clean and find enjoyment in it. I had a great boss and it was great seeing how much everyone who came in respected him and had lovely casual conversations with him and sometimes me. It was sad however when I found out that the week after I had worked there, that after sixty years, the store was closing down...

But on the second week of my work experience, I worked as an apprentice to a documentary filmmaker. He was the nicest man I'd ever met in ages. He was so interesting and funny. He worked out in Wicklow mainly, that's where his crew was based for their nature documentary they were making. We spent days looking for places to shoot an autumn night scene and it was fun. With each day that passed, himself and I moved from head figure and apprentice to good friends. It was just so comfortable to be working with him and it got to the point where it didn't feel like work. It was fantastic. I still keep in contact with him to this day!
